HOW IT ALL STARTED

Being a mom means so many different things! For me is started on April 1, 2005 after peeing on a pregnancy test stick! Yep, April Fools Day- it seemed fitting because I wasn't sure if I was ready?! After all, we didn't plan it and I wasn't married...What would everyone think? Was this a joke? Nope. It was real and I was ready- more than I knew! I read every book, didn't drink a sip of caffeine or eat lunch meat, took my vitamins and started to be a mom!
Looking back now, it was the best thing that ever happened to me and it has been a crazy ride ever since. I'm now the mom of 3 lovely, amazing, crazy, perfect children.  It seems as if I'd had a baby on my hip ever since December of 2005. In fact many people seem to say "You are always pregnant!" Which by the way isn't something a mom of two who is 6 months pregnant, still having morning or in my case all day sickness wants to hear.

After having one little one and getting through the craziness that came with an unexpected pregnancy, moving into a new home and figuring out how to be a mom.... I can vividly remember thinking and talking with my love before our son could talk in full sentences about how he needed a friend. Not a play date buddy, but a live in friend- A SIBLING! No we weren't married yet, so to some this was crazy, but to me it meant a really good looking ring bearer and hopefully a pretty little flower girl! Plus we are both one of four, so it seemed normal in our world to have siblings close in age! She arrived in July of 2008, more beautiful than I could have imagined.  Moms: Can you remember those first moments and days after giving birth and looking at your baby. They were often quiet little moments that only baby and I shared. Not the ones we posted on facebook or tweeted about, but just little bits of wonderful that I'll never forget. After I took the pregnancy test on Thanksgiving Day 2007 (yep another holiday), my baby daddy who by the way was an awesome father was excited for round two and behind my back he shopped for a big shiny engagement ring! I'm not going to lie I had no clue what he'd be like as a Daddy back in 2005, but he's blown me away everyday since I told him I was pregnant! Even the really crappy days with kids- yes there are crappy days! We'll talk about those later.
THE WEDDING! July of 2009 rolled around and we were getting ready to walk down the isle. I'm sure some said "FINALLY!" I was thinking this is the perfect time! We had our ring bearer and flower girl....things were starting to go smoothly. I was due to get my period on my wedding day. I know right, my wedding day with my period. I did however suspect I might be knocked up AGAIN! My husband to be knew and my maid of honor, but that's it! Turns out I didn't have to worry about getting my period for another nine months.  I didn't take the test wedding day....I should have because the other two tests have days attached. I can credit my husband's early July birthday for conception though.  I found out the week after my wedding that baby 3 was coming in 9 months! I wasn't on my honeymoon, because moms don't always do things like other people do.  We celebrated our daughter's 1st birthday before heading to Maui! I had a mom honeymoon. A preggers honeymoon! The third little one was a wild pregnancy, full of sickness and a variety of unpleasant pregnancy symptoms. He was my best newborn of all three....that was the least he could do! Don't worry he was saving it for his two year old year (which we are still surviving together).

So here we are the end of 2012, in another new home. This will be our forever home. Hopefully a beach or mountain house somewhere out there for us, but not yet....now we pay a mortgage payment at day care/preschool and after care because in the middle of being pregnant three times and now having three kids, I am a working mom too! Some days I wish I could stay at home, but for us it doesn't work! Other days I can't imagine not working- unless of course we win the lottery. Then it's kids off to school, Good Morning America, the gym and Mommy Time. I'm convinced only mom lottery winners truly get "mommy time" each day.  If I get to pee alone, it's a blessing!

I decided to start this blog to write about the real life of parenthood. I'm always thinking about it and saying how it really is, so I figured why not share!

What's next for us? Stay tuned!
